What started as a joke now appears to be in negotiations.

The whole mess of “Justin Bieber vs Tom Cruise” began back on June 9th. That’s when the Biebz put out a Tweet challenging Cruise to ‘a fight in the Octagon.’ Then, “The Biebs” backed off in another tweet three short days later, saying that he was just kidding and admitting Cruise would mop the floor with him.

Behind the scenes, however, the story looks to be far from over. UFC’s Dana White has gone on-record about how a fight like this would be a “blockbuster.” “It would be massive,” he recently said. “Everybody laughed when we talked about this, so you’ve heard of it. Who wouldn’t watch that? Everybody would watch it. It’s a complete train wreck, and I love it, and I’m in. I’m in.”

How “in?” He’s in so much that there have been talks about making it happen. Like for real. White says he won’t use any names, but he claims to have “received a call from two big guys.” “They were telling me this could possibly happen, and this could be real,” says White. “I’m like, there’s no way that this is really going to happen. But if it does, call me back. I’m in.”

So, either this is the most brilliant way ever to keep your name on the public’s tongue…or the most massively ridiculous and profitable stunt since Tonya Harding and Paula Jones in “Celebrity Boxing.”
