Locals say the restrooms at Griffin Park in Porthcawl will now be set up to “deter inappropriate sexual activity or vandalism.” First off, those who want to use them will have to pay an “undisclosed fee.” If more than one person enters the can, the sensors will be able to tell. From there, the lights and heat could shut off if someone’s been in too long. There’s also a “high pressure floor and wall washer” that can fire off each time the toilet’s been used…along with an automated “deep clean” nightly. The new high-tech toilets will start being constructed this October.
