MICHIGAN DOG APPROVED FOR UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS

Most people love dogs, but most would agree a dog doesn't need unemployment benefits. A mix-up at Michigan's unemployment office saw unemployment benefits get approved for "Michael Ryder"-- who happens to be a dog. Owner Michael Haddock said there's nobody with that full name at his home, but his German Shepherd is named Ryder. A letter Haddock received said his pup will be receiving $360 a week. The Unemployment Insurance Agency is investigating and say the supposed mix-up could be an example of fraud. (UPI)
