Next Big Health Trend: Weed Juice

Health food fans love blending up smoothies full of good ingredients and now it seems there’s a new plant they’re adding to the mix: marijuana. Yep, people are popping pot into their morning green smoothie, but it’s not to get high, it’s for their health.

So what goodness comes from drinking weed juice? Well, like most leafy greens, the pot plant is nutritionally dense and full of calcium, iron, vitamin K, fiber, and antioxidants. Kath Guidance, a spokesperson from the Nimbin Hemp Embassy explains that the cannabinoids in the marijuana plant provide anti-inflammatory, anti-nausea, anti-convulsion, and mood enhancing benefits as well.

Unlike smoking a joint, drinking raw pot leaves won’t get you stoned. But Guidance says these greens are a great source of protein, magnesium, Omega-3, and Omega-6 fatty acids, so it’s great for your health and won’t give you the munchies later.
