It's summertime, and it's hard to avoid the heat, but there's apparently one advantage only half the population gets for surviving a heatwave: a "summer penis." On Reddit, one user asked others if they experienced a "bigger d*** in summer and smaller in winter." Men said soaring temperatures cause their junk to appear larger, and their erections better.
Dr. Dudley Danoff, author of The Ultimate Guide to Male Sexual Health, says hot temperatures cause blood vessels to widen and penises to "swell." Urologist Dr Jamin Brahmbhatt, however, says men's penises always remain the same size, but adds that blood vessels near the organs' surface may contract to maintain heat, and that hot weather may cause those blood vessels to "fill to the max" making erect penises appear larger.
