Many websites really try to keep it clean, but they’re fighting a losing battle. Some people just have names that sound dirty. Like Natalie Weiner, who couldn’t register for the site MaxPreps because its automated enrollment software found her last name offensive. Or Ben Schmuck, who could only sympathize with Natalie because, he wrote on Twitter, it happens to him all the time. Then there’s Jen Dick, who couldn’t enroll for a webinar because her surname kept getting rejected. Websites maintain dirty word lists and automatically reject posts that contain those words.
