Foo Fighters are getting into the pre-Super Bowl hype with a 1970s-inspired spoof video directed by frontman Dave Grohl. The clip, which also features some noted NFL announcers, arrives ahead of the band’s "Super Saturday Night" performance in Atlanta on Saturday, February 2nd -- the day before the big game.
The five-minute video sees Grohl and the band suit up in full football gear as the San Fernando Jackalopes. Grohl steps off the team bus as Larry Butz, swigging from a flask and followed by teammates Helmütt Pyle, Jake Schenker, Bertrand Hitchens and Bret Rogers. Of course, their exploits on the field leave something to be desired, to put it mildly.
The Foos plan to stream the pre-Super Bowl show via Twitter at @directtv and on DirecTV's Audience channel, starting at 11:00 p.m. ET. Special guests will be Run The Jewels.
