The Most Popular Spring Break Destinations

We bet right about now a lot of people, especially those dealing with freezing temperatures and snow are wishing they had a spring break vacation planned. Well, some lucky folks are planning to get away in the next few weeks, and a new report reveals which destinations are the most popular this year.

According to travel insurance company Allianz Global Assistance, Orlando, Florida is once again the top spring break destination for domestic travelers, while the most popular international destination in Cancun, Mexico.

And this year some formerly popular destinations seem to be making a resurgence, including Puerto Rico, which is making a comeback following the devastation of Hurricane Maria, and is the fifth-most popular international destination this year. Also back in the domestic Top ten this year is Salt Lake City, Utah, which is great for folks who want to ski during their break.

  • As for when most people will be taking their spring break, the busiest domestic travel day is actually today, while March 16th is the most popular for international travel. On average, those traveling to domestic destinations will likely spend five days on their trip, while international travelers will spend eight.
