Not having a baby makes it easier to watch basketball games, right? Recent stories in several U.S. papers confirmed the annual trend-- there's an uptick in men getting vasectomies during March Madness. A urologist in South Carolina tells the Post and Courier, "They'll come in with their Kentucky or UNC basketball shirts on. It's almost like an event built around [March Madness.]" Another doctor says patients typically schedule the procedure on a Friday so they can rest over the weekend, but that in the early stages of the tournament, he'll see Monday-through-Thursday appointments that coincide with the basketball schedule. The urologist from South Carolina adds that men who get the procedure basically get a "get-out-of-jail free card to sit on the couch and watch some TV."
