The Easter Island Giant Head Statues are in Trouble

You know those famous statues of GIANT HEADS on Easter Island?

Apparently they're getting damaged and could be in real danger . . . all because tourists ignore the rules to stay back, trample right over protected lands and graves, and walk right up to take selfies where they're PICKING the statues' NOSES.

One expert on tourism on Easter Island says, quote, "I'm troubled by the lack of genuine tourist interest in the island and its people . . . it seems many wish only to insert themselves into history by taking a selfie."
