We know Dave Grohl as the guy that leads the Foo Fighters and he banged on the drums for Nirvana, but he's also a very giving man.
There have been many times that we've seen stories of how Dave and his crew would be out cooking all night, smoking meats, grilling, BBQ'ing, doing it up and feeding as many people that they could. Now, Dave will be honored for his work with feeding the homeless!
Hope The Mission will recognize Grohl and Dennis Oleesky of the Los Angeles Mission at their big gala event, Hope In The City Of Angels, on October 18th.
Via their press release, Hope the Mission said, "Long regarded as one of the most respected and prolific presences in modern music, Dave Grohl has been equally passionate in his offstage service to his local community. Without fanfare, Dave has volunteered for days at a time, preparing and serving meals to people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. At this year’s gala, we honor him for inspiring advocacy on behalf of the less fortunate in his backyard, just as his music has provided hope and solace for fans the world over.”
Bravo, Dave!
