System of a Down singer Serj Tankian recently opened up about the death of Chris Cornell.
Talking with the YouTube channel Mythical Kitchen, Tankian shared that he is still trying to come to terms with the loss of the Soundgarden frontman.
When asked by host Josh Scherer if he could make sense of the senseless, Tankian replied: "I think when you feel hopeless, the most dangerous thing for a human being is hopelessness, I think, you know? And when you feel hopeless, then you see those doors closing. You don't see the light at the end of the tunnel."
"That's the most dangerous thing as far as what we're talking about and, you know, experiencing it with Chris Cornell, who's also a dear friend," he said. "And I had just seen him months before, and he had a lot of dreams, you know?"
"We talked about that, he had, a covers album in mind. Like, he had a lot of plans, which is why I can't understand, right?" Tankian continued. "When you have a lot of plans, you don't just shut them down in one day. Right? Like, it doesn't make sense. Still."
